Prior to Melissa, he served as Director of Fine Arts and Director of Bands at Winona ISD and began his career as a band director in East Texas.
Throughout his career, Jerry's programs have earned numerous UIL Sweepstakes Awards, Texas Music Educators Association honors, ATSSB Area and All-State recognition, and national performance invitations. His leadership has extended beyond his own district through extensive service to the profession. He currently serves on the ATSSB Executive Board as the 4A State Division Chair and has held numerous leadership roles with UIL, TMEA, and regional music organizations. In recognition of his contributions to music education and educational leadership, Jerry was named an inaugural recipient of the ATSSB Outstanding Contributors Award.
Jerry is a passionate advocate for leadership that emphasizes character, accountability, servant leadership, and building healthy organizational cultures. He regularly consults with administrators, coaches, directors, and leadership teams on topics including program development, personnel management, policy implementation, governance, conflict resolution, community engagement, and organizational systems. His practical approach combines the perspective of a successful educator with a deep understanding of school operations and executive leadership.
Jerry earned his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Northwestern State University and is completing a Master's degree in Educational Leadership. His long-term passion is developing leaders who create school cultures where students and educators thrive.
Outside of education, Jerry enjoys spending time with his wife, Alex, and their three children. Family, faith, and service remain at the center of everything he does, and he believes that the greatest measure of success is the lasting impact leaders have on the people they serve.
